Subona Mostofa was born in Dopdopiya Union, Nalchity Upazila, Jhalokati District. Her father was Golam Mostafa, a film and television actor, and her mother was Husne Ara Mostafa, a radio producer for All India Radio, Radio Pakistan, and Bangladesh Betar.
